Stedi is looking for a serverless-obsessed engineer to join our Substrate team. Substrate acts as an infrastructure team and security team, building tools to make it seamless for developers to follow our high standards. This role will enable you to work on the leading-edge of technology and have the opportunity to help build a first class security and compliance platform for Stedi as we scale. 

### What you'll do

- Help Stedi “shift-left” our security and compliance tools by enabling developers to audit their code before deployment
- Maintain and improve our existing pipeline npm package and CloudFormation Guard tooling
- Improve the automation of security findings to engineers
- Balance security with developer enablement while ensuring the safety and security of the Stedi platform
- Operationalize all tools and ideas before implementation 

### Who you are

- 5+ years of developer experience, security interest a plus
- Expertise with cloud services, such as AWS CDK/CloudFormation and CLI tools
- Expertise with web development, including TypeScript
- Experience building highly-available production services, including deployment automation, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and scaling

Working closely with product owners, architects and engineering managers, our Application Engineers are a vital part of the LEGO.com engineering team. We have implemented a modern front-end stack based around Next.js, React and GraphQL with a cloud-native AWS serverless back-end and we use the platform to design, build and operate LEGO.com.

# Do you have what it takes?

- Expert knowledge and substantial commercial experience building highly performant APIs using Node.js.
- Expert knowledge of working with microservices – our event-based services layer utilizes Node.js and the Serverless Framework and is built mainly on the AWS Serverless stack – including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Kinesis and DynamoDB
- Commercial experience of building applications on a public cloud platform.
- Experience working with the Amazon Web Services platform is strongly preferred
- Experience working with the Serverless Framework or similar is preferred
- Experience of working with modern CI/CD and engineering tooling is preferred– we use GitHub and CircleCI extensively
- Must be attentive to detail, flexible and able to work concurrently on multiple projects
- Ability to troubleshoot, research, and work through complex problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
